Job Description

Job Title: Forklift Driver

Job Location: Kisumu, Kenya

Job Summary:

The Forklift Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to handle the movement, loading, unloading, and storage of goods within the warehouse. The role ensures accurate inventory handling, proper equipment maintenance, and adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate electric and diesel forklifts safely and efficiently for loading, unloading, transporting, and stacking goods.
  • Receive, inspect, count, and store incoming goods, ensuring accuracy between physical stock and inventory records.
  • Prepare and dispatch goods according to delivery schedules and warehouse procedures.
  • Conduct routine forklift inspections, basic maintenance, and report any faults or mechanical issues promptly.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of goods to prevent damage or loss.
  • Adhere strictly to warehouse safety policies, procedures, and operational guidelines to prevent accidents.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the warehouse in line with 5S standards.
  • Support the Warehouse Manager in general warehouse operations and stock management activities.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Valid forklift operating license/certification.
  • Proven experience operating electric and/or diesel forklifts in a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management and warehouse operations.
  • Ability to perform routine equipment checks and minor troubleshooting.
  • Good attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical tasks.
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance with operational procedures.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
