AHF Products has a job opportunity for a Lift Truck Operator in our flooring plant in Catersville, GA. We know that we will WIN when our people want to WIN just as much as we do. The Lift Truck Operator is responsible for loading, receiving and properly labeling pallets in a manner prescribed by customers in the shipping department by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

  • Responsible for following Job Safety Analysis guidelines to assure safe operations.
  • Perform all required pre-shift safety check of the forklift or other equipment.
  • Work and always operate in safe manner.
  • Participate in safety training and receive instruction through hands-on demonstration and/or classroom lecture, as required.
  • Assemble orders; load and thread stretch-wrap machine.
  • Move picked material from storage locations to the floor. Assemble and properly label pallets in manner prescribed by customer.
  • Remove empty pallets and stretch-wrap from racks. Adjust inventory as necessary.
  • Load trailer and adjust loading pattern to properly distribute weight in trailer.  Communicate pertinent issues, including safety concerns to drivers.
  • Receiving: Verify quantity, SKU and lot on each incoming pallet.  Transfer all incoming pallets to the appropriate end rack or storage location.  Manually separate mixed SKU incoming pallets and properly store material in designated racks.
  • Inventory Control: Conduct cycle counts.
  • Operate palletizer production line: check equipment and supplies (pallets, forklift, stretch-wrap, tag stock, chutes).
  • Operate dispatcher system (computer) to perform basic stock inquiry functions, and operator radio data terminal.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Able to work any shift and overtime when required.
  • Possess basic computer skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed by management.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to successfully complete and pass a background check, employment verification and drug screening
  • Positive and Verifiable Work History
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1 year of experience in a related environment or equivalent training and/or education
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, SOP and standard work
  • Must possess shift and schedule flexibility of regular time (any shift that may include off-hours and/or weekends), and overtime, as needed
  • Must agree to follow safety guidelines and wear applicable safety equipment, e.g., safety glasses, side shields, approved safety shoes, and other PPE as needed
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's; ability to use a calculator; ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; able to communicate effectively and function in a team-based environment; ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
