Location: Remote locations near Grande Prairie, AB
Work Environment: Remote forestry sites with rugged terrain and variable weather conditions. Long outdoor workdays require stamina and resilience. Strong emphasis on teamwork, respect, and adherence to safety protocols.
Position is in a remote silviculture camp. Employees sleep in their own accommodations (generally tents). Nutritious and delicious hot meals are provided on workdays. Common areas and shower facilities are provided. Work rotations vary – generally four days on, one day off. Approximately May 1 – July 31st with possible extension.
Pay: Based on qualifications and experience. Starting at $270 per day.
WHATS THE JOB?
The Tree Assessor plays a critical role in maintaining high standards of tree planting quality. This position ensures that every planting site meets or exceeds client specifications through systematic quality checks and accurate documentation. Responsibilities include tracking quality data by planter, block, and operating area, and delivering clear, timely reports. Success in this role requires meeting daily plot targets, upholding safety protocols, and demonstrating attention to detail, organizational ability, and a strong commitment to operational safety.
