A Day in the Life of a Foreman at RWC!

Be part of designing your community! From the bustling downtown core all the way to Northern British Columbia you will be championing the installation of walls and ceilings at our client sites. Our previous and current locations include Amazon HQ, YVR Airport, University of British Columbia, Parq Casino, Emily Carr University, Willowbrook Mall, Royal Columbian Hospital, New Saint Paul's Hospital and much more! The Foreman plays a crucial role in managing the company’s resources to increase productivity, quality and safety. You will be encouraging staff to always put their best foot forward to ensure all our job sites are safe.

Please note: This position will begin with 2–3 months of training at our Prince Albert Victorian Hospital in Saskatchewan before transitioning to the Red Deer Hospital project in Alberta.

Key Responsibilities

· Read and comprehend blueprints and shop drawings.

· Spearhead a team of field employees and ensure their work is performed with a high level of efficiency.

· Ability to perform tasks including steel stud framing, drywall, and acoustic ceilings.

· Schedule project workforce needs by working in tandem with Project Manager and report to General Contractor.

· Lead safety meetings and workplace assessments/inspections with the team on a regular basis.

· Champion daily administration such as timecards, field reports, schedule updates and correspondence with the project team.

· Ensure that quality standards are being met and assist in managing the project Quality Control program and tracking deficiencies.

· Arrange deliveries and submit material request.

· Complete daily reports in various apps such as Plexxis and Salus.

· Perform Time and Materials work using EWA's in the Site Supervisor app.

· Document all trade damages using the PlanGrid system.

· Manage the productivity and timely completion of jobs while ensuring all safety rules and regulations are being followed.

· Enforce all General Contractor and RWC safety guidelines and regulations.

· Collaborate with site teams to evaluate the site labour force while working to avoid conflicts of interest.

· Coordinate with site teams to help coordinate difficult tasks.

· Give guidance to new and/or inexperienced site leadership to promote RWC ways.

· Perform other duties as required by the Director of Construction.

Qualifications and Experience

· Minimum of 10 years’ experience in commercial drywall and steel stud framing.

· Proven architectural and/or construction trade experience.

· Demonstrated leadership ability with experience supervising crews, assigning work, and maintaining productivity.

· Strong working knowledge of construction methods, equipment, and industry best practices.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a hands-on, team-oriented leadership style.

· Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively in the field.

· Ability to safely work at heights and enforce site safety standards.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

· Construction-site

· Working conditions vary depending on the project. Work may be performed outdoors, indoors, or in partially enclosed areas and may involve standing, walking, lifting, kneeling, and bending.
