Job Description

This position leads a team of Measurement Technicians and oversees all aspects of oil and gas measurement and product quality within the production area. The role works closely with Production, I&E, and Carriers to ensure accurate, consistent measurement, while supporting compliance with company measurement policies, audits, and standards. This position plays a key role in ensuring reliable measurement practices that support both company and customer requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of oil and gas measurement within the production area, including custody transfer, check measurement, allocation, well test, leak detection, and integrity of metering. Ensure all measurement equipment and procedures meeting company and industry standard, including compliance with all HSE policies.
  • Provide leadership and support to a team of Measurement Technicians including training, development, goal setting and the annual performance review process.
  • Build and maintain schedules for all O&M tasks and on-call rotations related to measurement responsibilities. Ensure effective use of technician work hours, including approval of timecards and management of field tickets and invoices for correct billing and timely payment.
  • Facilitate and attend meetings with production, facilities, I&E and other stakeholders to ensure execution of measurement needs. Schedule and ensure compliance of all measurement contractors.
  • Maintian gain/loss reports,analyze measurement data and provide cost effective solutions. Monitor industry changes and new technologies and assist in evaluating new equipment as needed.
  • Responsible for budgeting, technical support, gas balancing and administrative functions within the measurement area.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Competencies

  • Familiar with API Manual of Petroleum Measurement Standards, American Gas Association Standards, Gas Processors Association Standards, industry measurement standards, and typical contract agreement language. Familiarity with field instrumentation, meters, transmitters, flow computers, etc.
  • Understands the methods of measurements used for custody transfer.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma (or GED).
  • Minimum of five (5) years related experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable MVR.
  • Ability to pass a respiratory fit test, if applicable to route / location.
  • An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of ten (10) years knowledge /experience in field operations.
  • Technical certification / training preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Ability to stoop, stand, walk, pull, carry instruments, and climb stairs and ladders for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work overhead for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to perform fine manipulations with hands and fingers.
  • Capable of driving distances of 150 miles or more per day during all types of weather conditions.
  • Ability to one arm carry up to 25lbs. without assistance.
  • Regular bending, crouching, pulling, and kneeling to check equipment and gauges.
  • Must be able to exert up to 50lbs. of force occasionally and up to 20lbs. frequently to move or manipulate objects.
  • Ability to work significant amounts of time as required in completing job responsibilities.
  • Working environment includes exposure to extremely loud noises in the field, hazardous chemicals, and hydrocarbons that may be under extreme pressure for which appropriate safety measures are required.
