The Foreman, Excavator will be responsible for the reliability and availability of the maintenance team by building, assessing and continuously improving the equipment availability. Identify, develop, and implement improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance and operations processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise planned and breakdown maintenance on all Mechanical systems on Excavator Machines
  • Ensure works order compliance.
  • Order parts and draw parts from onsite warehouse/s.
  • Actively promote full cooperation between the maintenance and mining operation
  • Prioritize workload as per equipment priority and production requirements.
  • Drive to achieve required equipment availability and reliability targets.
  • Advise management of whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
  • Offer sound knowledge of reading schematics and troubleshooting fault on equipment
  • Strong commitment towards safe work practices.
  • Coordinate activities of your team in accordance with the maintenance weekly plan
  • Participate in the formulation of the weekly plan
  • Rotable management on the shop floor in liaison with the part and rotable controller
  • Liaise with the leadership team on performance issues
  • Embed the culture of quality repairs and continuous improvement in the team
  • Carry out routine safety and statutory inspections
  • Carry out planned repairs in the workshop
  • Managing & reporting of the parts availability
  • Monitor Condition of equipment
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPEREINCE

  • Minimum of a Grade Twelve (12) Certificate
  • Craft or Advanced Certificate in Heavy Equipment Repair or equivalent.
  • A member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
  • Valid Driver’s License - Class C
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and experience working with PRONTO
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ proven experience working on Liebher and Hitachi Excavators
  • All academic qualifications and results must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
