The Role:

The Foreman will be responsible for overseeing daily operations and lead a team of skilled workers to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to Sandvik's high standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of a team of technicians, mechanics, or production staff.
  • Plan and organize daily work schedules, allocate tasks, and monitor progress.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment, tools, and work areas.
  • Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to team members.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and team performance.
  • Communicate effectively with management, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Assist in budgeting and resource allocation for projects.

Job Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (typically 3+ years) in a supervisory or leadership role within a relevant industry (e.g., manufacturing, mining, construction).
  • Strong technical knowledge and practical experience related to Sandvik products or operations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, coach, and develop a team.
  • Solid understanding of safety protocols and best practices.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings and specifications.
  • Basic computer literacy (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Relevant trade qualification or technical certification is highly desirable.
  • A valid driver's license may be required depending on the role.
