and Responsibilities
The Foreman will be responsible for leading hourly unionized employees, preparing the team to operate safely while still focusing on the needs of our customers. Assist in meeting and exceeding processing goals daily. Maintain and perform small repairs on tools and equipment. Observe and report on safety to the Operations Manager. Ensure work areas are maintained and kept clean.

Operate heavy equipment used in loading/unloading of ferrous or nonferrous material
Support the variety of activities essential not limited to loaders, excavators/mobiles shear, Material handler and other equipment used in yard operation
Lead yard operators and trade people during the daily yard operations
Perform preventative maintenance as required on all equipment
Perform Torch cutting as required to the Ferrous materials
Perform repair as required to equipment
Report every safety observation in the yard and report to the manager
Manage the work area housekeeping and ground maintenance to the yard
Communicate using a Handheld radio with yard employees regarding material purchase and yard safety
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Completion of High School and/or equivalent
1-3 years of leadership roles (military, lead hand, supervisor or management experience)
Mechanical or electrical tickets are considered an asset
Ability to lead inside and outside workforce
Ability to build and retain a strong team
Strong planning and organizational skills
Knowledge of Automotive components is a definite asset
