Purpose of the Role

The Manager, M&A supports FORCIT's growth agenda by providing disciplined transaction execution capabilities and strategic acquisition expertise. The role is responsible for evaluating acquisition opportunities, leading transaction processes, coordinating cross-functional teams, and supporting successful integration and value creation following completed transactions.

Working closely with Business Units, Group functions and external advisers, the position serves as FORCIT's central M&A capability and contributes to the successful execution of the Group's growth strategy.

Reporting Line

The role sits within FORCIT's Group Business Development & Strategy team and reports to the Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO).

Key Responsibilities

Transaction Execution

• Lead end-to-end execution of acquisition and joint venture transactions.
• Coordinate internal and external workstreams throughout the transaction lifecycle.
• Manage timelines, risks, stakeholder alignment and decision-making processes.
• Ensure transactions are executed in a structured and professional manner.

Financial Analysis and Valuation

• Build investment cases and scenario analyses to support decision-making and transaction funding processes.
• Conduct strategic, commercial and financial assessments of potential opportunities.

Due Diligence and Negotiations

• Coordinate financial, commercial, operational and legal due diligence processes.
• Manage interactions between external advisers and internal stakeholders.
• Support transaction negotiations and resolution of key commercial issues.
• Ensure appropriate documentation and governance throughout the process.

Business Unit Partnership

• Partner with Business Units to assess strategic rationale and acquisition fit.

Integration and Value Creation

• Assist in defining synergy capture initiatives and value creation plans.
• Support post-merger integration planning and execution by Business Units.

Executive and Board Support

• Ensure decision proposals are supported by robust analysis and clear business rationale.
• Prepare high-quality decision-making materials for the Leadership Team and Board of Directors.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field.
• Typically 5-10 years of experience in:
• M&A
• Investment Banking
• Transaction Services
• Corporate Finance
• Private Equity or related fields
• Demonstrated experience in transaction execution and financial modelling.
• Experience in industrial, manufacturing, infrastructure or B2B environments is considered an advantage.
• Strong understanding of M&A processes, valuation methodologies, financial statements and transaction documentation.

Practical information

The position is based in Finland and can be located flexibly at FORCIT's offices, for example in Hanko, Tampere or Tuusula, combined with remote work. Note that the successful completion of the task requires 1-2 days of presence at Forcit's headquarters in Hanko, depending on the ongoing projects.
