We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Food Delivery Receiver / Storage & Prep Associate to join our food service team at Alma College This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient food service operation. You will be responsible for receiving deliveries, properly storing food and supplies, and assisting with basic food preparation tasks.
Receive, inspect, and document incoming food and supply deliveries.
Ensure all products meet quality standards and are stored appropriately according to safety and sanitation guidelines.
Rotate stock and monitor expiration dates (FIFO method).
Maintain cleanliness and organization in storage areas (dry, refrigerated, and freezer).
Assist culinary team with basic food prep tasks such as washing, peeling, portioning, etc.
Report any shortages, damages, or food safety issues to management.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
Work collaboratively with team members to ensure timely kitchen operations.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous experience in food service, receiving, or inventory control is a plus.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in cold storage areas.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation (ServSafe certification a plus).
Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented attitude.
Must be able to pass a background check as required by Alma College.
