This position assists with meal preparation and delivers prepared food in proper containers to clients assigned to specific routes and time periods.
Examples of duties
- Practices proper food-handling techniques and food safety procedures to prevent food contamination or poisoning and to ensure food quality is maintained.
- Follows safety procedures within the kitchen to promote a safe working environment.
- Ensures all food products (hot and cold) are kept in the proper thermal carrying bag.
- Performs cleaning duties to meet sanitation requirements.
- Assists with the overall cleaning of all pots and pans.
- Delivers meals promptly to comply with the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) guidelines.
- Serves food and beverages to meet clients’ nutritional needs.
- Ensures equipment is in good working order and requests repairs as needed.
- Attends and participates in all mandatory training requirements.
- Performs any other duties assigned.

Qualifications
- Reliable vehicle.
- Must possess a valid and current Texas Driver’s License.
- Must obtain and maintain current vehicle insurance as required by the State of Texas.

Other Requirements/Information
- Once hired, must obtain and maintain a valid Food Handler’s Certificate.
- The Webb County Drug and Alcohol Policy applies to this position. Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, and a criminal background check are required.
- This position is not covered under Civil Service; however, all other Webb County policies apply.
Valid Texas Driver’s License*
*If the applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver’s License must be obtained prior to employment.
