A growing food manufacturing company launching a new biscuit and bakery production facility in Kitwe, Zambia is currently seeking a qualified
Food Technologist
with expertise in biscuit or bakery product development and quality standards.
This opportunity is ideal for professionals who have experience working in food production environments and who are passionate about developing high-quality bakery and biscuit products for commercial manufacturing.
The Food Technologist will play an important role in ensuring product quality, developing recipes, supporting production processes, and maintaining consistent food safety and quality standards across the manufacturing operation.

Role Overview
The Food Technologist will support the production team by ensuring that all biscuit and bakery products meet the required quality standards, taste profiles, and shelf-life expectations. The role involves working closely with production and quality teams to ensure that recipes are optimized for industrial-scale manufacturing.
The successful candidate will also contribute to product improvement initiatives, monitor production quality, and support the implementation of quality control procedures within the factory.

Key Responsibilities
The Food Technologist will be responsible for maintaining product consistency and supporting the production team in delivering high-quality bakery and biscuit products. The role involves monitoring ingredient quality, ensuring accurate product formulations, and supporting the development of standardized production processes.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining biscuit and bakery product formulations

  • Ensuring consistent product quality and taste standards during production

  • Conducting quality checks on raw materials and finished products

  • Supporting production teams in optimizing baking processes and product consistency

  • Implementing food safety and quality control procedures within the manufacturing process

  • Conducting shelf-life testing and product stability assessments


Requirements


Candidate Requirements
Candidates should possess a degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or a related discipline and have relevant experience working in the food manufacturing or bakery production sector.
Applicants with experience in biscuit manufacturing, industrial baking, or snack food production will be highly preferred. Strong knowledge of food safety standards, ingredient functionality, and production processes will be essential for success in this role.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and the capability to work closely with production teams to maintain product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
