- Salad Maker/Vegetable Prep
Basic Qualifications:

Performs variety of food preparation duties other than cooking, such as preparing salads and cold foods, shellfish, slicing meats and vegetables, and brewing coffee or tea.

General Responsibilities:

• Readies large quantities of various types of fresh and prepared salads, cold cuts and sliced meats.
• Prepare vegetables and meats to be used in meal preparation.
• Ensures salad bar is completely stocked at all times.
• Follow recipe cards for making salads.
• Maintains a first-rate salad bar at all times.
• Makes sure that sink, counters, shelves and drawers are kept clean and sanitary.

Essential duties:

• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, or silverware.
• Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage.
• Prepare a variety of foods, such as meats, vegetables, according to instructions, following approved procedures.
• Take and record temperature of food and food storage areas, such as refrigerators and freezers.
• Wash, peel, and cut various foods, such as fruits and vegetables, to prepare for cooking or serving.
• Place food trays over food warmers for immediate service or store them in refrigerated storage cabinets.
• Portion and wrap the food or place it directly on plates for service to patrons.
• Weigh or measure ingredients.
• Mix ingredients for green salads, molded fruit salads, vegetable salads, and pasta salads.

Adhere to the Blackstone Consulting, Inc. policies, rules and regulations as set forth in the Employee Handbook and Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Comply with all HACCP standards.

Perform other tasks as assigned by the Project Manager or other designated personnel.

Physical Requirements

• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Stands and moves within the kitchen area for 6 to 7 hours (excluding break and lunch periods)
• Bending, stooping, and reaching
