Job Description

Food Service Assistant (Bulk Plating)

  • Friendly and supportive team.

  • Part time position in the AM, 36 hours per week

About the Role
You will be responsible for providing meal and beverage services to all internal and external SVHM customers. This includes plating, cleaning, restocking and some basic meal preparation and production.

  • Set up, clean, and restock plating area

  • Provide correct food and beverage items as per patient meal tickets

  • Clean food and beverage trolleys and trays, crockery, cutlery etc.

  • Prepare salad and sandwiches as required

Classifications for this position will range from IN13 - IN14 ($49,145 - $53,508 per annum pro rata).

Your Contribution

  • Current Food Handlers Certificate (HLTFSE001)

  • Experience in high volume food service

  • Focus on customer satisfaction

  • Thorough understanding of Food Safety responsibilities

  • A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, or willing to obtain

About the Food Services Team

St Vincent’s Fitzroy Food service department is a central production kitchen providing food for 11 sites and for St Vincent’s itself. We are fully functional kitchen operating 365 days of the year, producing approximately 2500 meals daily in accordance to the “cook-chill” methodology for all sites.

The department consists of over 85 employees, ranging from cooks/chefs, kitchen hands and food service assistants.

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
