About the Role:

The Food Service Worker-Utility plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall efficiency of food service operations within a retail trade environment. This position ensures that all food preparation and dining areas meet health and safety standards, contributing to a positive customer experience. The role involves supporting kitchen staff by performing essential utility tasks such as cleaning, dishwashing, and waste management, which are critical to smooth daily operations. The Food Service Worker-Utility also assists in stocking supplies and may help with basic food preparation under supervision. Ultimately, this position supports the team in delivering high-quality service while adhering to regulatory guidelines and company policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in food service or retail trade environments.
  • Certification in food handling or safety (e.g., ServSafe) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment and cleaning protocols.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality in previous roles.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, dining, and food preparation areas according to health and safety regulations.
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment efficiently to ensure availability for food service operations.
  • Dispose of waste and recyclables properly, following company and environmental guidelines.
  • Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing food and supply deliveries to maintain inventory control.
  • Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks as needed, ensuring adherence to hygiene standards.
  • Operate cleaning equipment and perform routine maintenance to keep the work environment safe and functional.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely service delivery.
