You will support patient meal service operations by preparing and setting up tray assembly stations, ensuring all necessary supplies, food items, and condiments are in place. You will assist patients with menu selections and distribute meals in accordance with prescribed diet orders. You will maintain proper food handling and sanitation standards while keeping a clean and organized work environment. You will collect and transport meal trays and food carts, deliver snacks to patients, and support overall tray service as needed. You will also work in the dishroom and pot room, performing cleaning and housekeeping duties, along with other responsibilities as assigned.
Demonstrate experience in food service, including tray assembly and delivery
Read and write in English and follow oral and written instructions to accurately identify menu items
Work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced tray assembly line environment
Perform basic mathematical calculations without the use of a calculator
Maintain a basic knowledge and understanding of dietary requirements and menus
Use strong interpersonal skills to interact with co-workers, medical staff, patients, supervisors, and management
Adhere to established dress code standards
Stand for extended periods and perform repetitive movements such as stretching, bending, pushing, walking, lifting, and reaching
Lift and push heavy carts safely
Attend and participate in departmental training classes
