
The food service worker supports daily food production operations in a school kitchen that serves students. The position is responsible for preparing and assembling food items, serving student meals and/or cashiering the POS, dish duty, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Must be willing to be flexible and work at other schools as needed.
This part-time position works concurrent with Mahomet-Seymour School District. No nights, weekends or holidays. Off all summer. Must pass a background check.
Prepare fruits, vegetables, and other menu items according to standardized recipes
Wash, cut, portion, and package food products for distribution
Assist with meal assembly and service to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met
Label, date, and store food products following food safety guidelines
Operate kitchen equipment including ovens, steam tables, and knives
Follow HAACP procedures and document food temperatures as required
Support cook with food preparation and other duties as assigned
Work efficiently to meet production deadlines
Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal food safety and sanitation guidelines
Serve student meals and/or cashier POS
Previous food service, restaurant, cafeteria experience preferred but not required
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Reliable attendance and punctuality required
Ability to read, speak, and comprehend English
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 25 lbs.
Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive hand movements
Ability to work in loud, fast paced kitchen environment.
