Job Description

We're looking for an enthusiastic food service worker to join us in the cafeteria. You'll set up stations, prepare cold food, serve hot food and ensure food is kept at the proper temperature while maintaining a neat and sanitized station.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be available Monday - Friday 6:00am-2:00pm

  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks associated with the preparation and serving of food and beverages.

  • Maintain cleaning standards within a food service environment.

  • Knowledge of sanitation standards.

  • Must follow set procedures in accomplishing repetitive assignments and follow established sequence of work.

  • Must be punctual and have solid work ethics.

  • Must be able to pass a background check.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated history of related food service experience.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The principal responsibility of the Food Service Worker is to ensure the proper handling of food and sanitation of the kitchen in accordance with the contract requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Clean, sanitize and dust all stainless-steel counters, shelves, glass displays and reach in refrigeration.

  • Ensure that all station floors are free of debris/swept throughout the shift and mopped at the end of your shift.

  • Ensure that all napkin, utensil, and condiments dispensers are full before and after each meal service.

  • Kitchen - properly wash, peel, scrape, cut vegetables and fruits. Prepare simple grab & go salads, sandwiches, wraps and desserts - cut, slice, plate, garnish and label all items according to safety guidelines.

  • Restocks coffee, teas, and other beverages as needed.

  • Serves customers with correct portions of menu items.

  • Assist with removing dishes from the collection station and wash according to contract requirements.

  • Team player in the dish-room throughout the shift to support business needs.

  • Clean other kitchen equipment daily, or as needed.

  • Receive and unload food and beverage deliveries, remove items from pallet and store in designated areas (dry storage, walk-in cooler, walk-in freezer, shelves etc.) using the FIFO system.

  • Restock beverages, air fridge, grab & go, sweet and savory snack shelves throughout your shift.

  • Properly remove and dispose of trash in food service areas.

  • Workstations - proper opening, restocking, closing, cleaning and setup of stations throughout the day and setting up for the next day for success.

Essential Functions
  • Dining Hall
  • Clean all table tops, and ensure that all counters and window sills are free from dust.
  • Ensure that all dining facility floors are swept, and mopped on a daily basis. Bi-weekly floor waxing is also required.
  • Ensure that all napkin dispensers, salt and pepper shakers, and condiments dispensers are full before and after each meal.
  • Kitchen
  • Wash, peel, scrape, and cut vegetables and fruits.
  • Prepare simple salads; cut, slice, plate and garnish cakes and pies.
  • Prepares coffee, tea, and other beverages.
  • Serves customers with correct portions and menu item mixes.
  • Remove all dishes from the collection station and wash according contract requirements. Wash all pots and pans and utensils in accordance to the contract requirements.
  • Ensure that all kitchen floors are swept, and mopped on a daily basis. Bi-weekly floor waxing is also required.
  • Clean other kitchen equipment on a daily basis, or as needed.
