Job Description

The food service worker supports daily food production operations in a school kitchen that serves students
The position is responsible for preparing ingredients, assembling food items, serving students meals, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
The ideal candidate is reliable, energetic, and able to work efficiently as part of a team to meet daily production goals.
This full-time position starts in August. Monday- Friday 7am-3:30pm. Rarely nights or weekends. NO HOLIDAYS
Essential duties and responsibilities
Prepare fruits, vegetables, and other menu items according to standardized recipes and meal schedules
Wash, cut, portion, cook, and package food products for distribution
Assist with meal assembly and service to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met
Label, date, and store food products following food safety guidelines
Operate kitchen equipment including ovens, steam tables, and knives
Maintain clean and organized workstations throughout the shift.
Follow HAACP procedures and document food temperatures as required
Assist with receiving deliveries and stocking inventory using FIFO procedures
Support cooks with food preparation and other duties as assigned
Work efficiently to meet production deadlines
Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal food safety and sanitation guidelines

Qualifications
Previous food service, restaurant, cafeteria experience preferred but not required
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Reliable attendance and punctuality required
Serve Safe Certified or the ability to obtain certification upon hire
Must pass federal background check
Ability to read, speak, and comprehend English



Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 25 lbs.
Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive hand movements
Ability to work in loud, fast paced kitchen environment.
