Examples of duties

This position supports daily food service operations by preparing meals, assembling trays, and maintaining clean work and dining areas. The role helps ensure residents receive appealing and well-prepared meals. As a Food Service Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Meal Preparation: Prepare and plate food items, bag items as needed, and lift cases of food and beverages
  • Tray Assembly: Set up serving lines, interpret diet sheets, assemble trays, and deliver meals to residents
  • Food Transport: Load, move, and unload food carts, and obtain required signatures for deliveries
  • Sanitation Tasks: Scrape dishes, wash equipment, clean dining rooms and kitchens, and sanitize furniture
  • Equipment Cleaning: Clean conveyors, refrigerators, food carts, grills, and dish machines after meals
  • Record Keeping: Record food usage, temperatures, and meal counts

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 2nd shift (10:30 AM to 7:00 PM), Thursday - Monday, with a 30-minute lunch. You will have every Tuesday and Wednesday off.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

  • Previous food service worker experience

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
