Boone Memorial Health is looking for a dependable and team-oriented Food Service Technician to join our Dietary Services team. In this role, you'll help prepare and serve nutritious, high-quality meals to our patients, residents, visitors, and staff while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment.

What You'll Do
- Prepare and serve hot and cold food items following standardized recipes, therapeutic diets, and portion guidelines.
- Review menus and assist with meal preparation to ensure patients receive meals that meet their dietary needs.
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards by following HACCP, infection prevention, and departmental procedures.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Receive, stock, and rotate food and supplies while assisting with inventory and food orders.
- Assist with cafeteria operations, including operating the cash register and providing friendly customer service.
- Complete daily cleaning and sanitation responsibilities.
- Work collaboratively with fellow team members and other departments to provide an excellent dining experience.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Active Food Handler's Card or the ability to obtain one within the required timeframe.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic math and computer skills.
Preferred
- Two (2) years of experience in quantity food preparation, healthcare food service, restaurant, cafeteria, or institutional food service.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and infection prevention practices.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, including hot and cold kitchen areas.

Boone Memorial Health is a nonprofit healthcare company based in Boone County, West Virginia which owns and operates a critical access hospital with a 25-bed inpatient unit, Level IV Trauma Center, and Black Lung Center; two rural health clinics with two expansion locations; and a substance and mental health treatment program.
