What you will be doing in this role

As the Food Service Team Leader, you'll play a key role in leading a dedicated team responsible for delivering high-quality meals and exceptional service to patients, visitors and staff. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys motivating others, creating a positive team culture and contributing to an outstanding healthcare experience.

Working closely with the Food Service team, you'll help coordinate daily operations, support food preparation and meal service activities, and ensure services are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You'll be instrumental in coaching and developing team members while helping maintain a smooth-running department that takes pride in quality and customer service.

Reporting to the Hospitality Manager, you'll join a collaborative environment where your leadership can make a genuine difference every day.

This is a permanent, full-time position working 38 hours per week

Who we’re looking for

  • Demonstrated experience leading or supervising teams within a food service, hospitality or catering environment.
  • Strong communication skills and reliability with the ability to motivate, support and develop team members.
  • Proven ability to coordinate daily operations and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high-quality food service standards.
  • Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene and compliance requirements with a good eye for detail.
  • A collaborative approach with a can-do attitude and passion for contributing to positive patient and customer experiences.
  • Availability to work 5am -1:30pm Monday to Friday

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
