Food Service Specialist
Horizon Education Centers | Lorain, Ohio
Pay: $13.75-$14.75/hour
Schedule: Full-Time, approximately 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
About the Role
Horizon Education Centers is seeking a reliable and caring Food Service Specialist to support meal services in our early childhood education centers. This role is responsible for preparing and serving meals, maintaining kitchen operations, and supporting center staff as needed.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks
- Maintain compliance with health, CACFP, and licensing requirements
- Track meal counts and inventory
- Receive and verify food deliveries
- Maintain a clean, organized kitchen
- Order supplies and communicate with the CACFP Coordinator
- Assist with administrative and classroom support as needed

Qualifications

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Food service experience preferred
- Ability to multitask and work independently
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and team-focused
- Must obtain ODH Manager Certification within 30 days of hire (company-paid)
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. and pass required background checks
