Job Description

Food Service Coordinator

Love food, quality, and working with people? Join our team and help support food service operations across West Michigan. You'll work closely with store teams, travel throughout the region, and play an important role in delivering a consistent, high-quality customer experience.

Responsibilities

Why Blarney Castle?

We're the heart of convenience store operations in Michigan and the Midwest's largest petroleum distributor. Family-owned since 1933, we've spent generations building strong communities, developing great teams, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. Today, more than 1,700 team members across Michigan help us continue that tradition every day.

About the Role

Do you have a passion for food, training, and helping teams succeed?

We're looking for a Food Service Coordinator to support our EZ Mart locations throughout West Michigan, primarily in the Grand Rapids, Holland, South Haven, and St. Joseph areas. In this role, you'll work directly with store teams to improve food quality, strengthen operations, ensure food safety compliance, and create outstanding customer experiences.

If you've successfully led a restaurant, deli, grocery, or food service operation and enjoy coaching others, this could be the perfect next step. You'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by developing team members, supporting new initiatives, and helping our food service programs continue to grow.

Job Purpose

Train, coach, execute, and provide relief support for food service operations within our EZ Mart Convenience Stores. This includes support for Lucky Louie Delis, Louie's Markets, Chester's Chicken, and other locations offering prepared food programs.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of food service experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with Directors, District Managers, Store Managers, team members, customers, and vendors.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to coach and develop store teams to increase food sales, maintain product quality, and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and capable of learning company systems including Kronos, iCIMS, and other operational software.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Flexible schedule with availability based on business needs.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Store Managers and team members to provide hands-on food service training, coaching, and operational support.
  • Support new and existing employees through ongoing food service training and development.
  • Ensure food quality, food safety, sanitation, and operational standards are consistently maintained.
  • Identify opportunities to improve training materials, processes, and program execution while supporting company goals and standards.
  • Assist with the rollout of new food service initiatives, products, and promotions.
  • Collaborate with Operations leadership to develop and present training materials, recipes, policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Organize, coordinate, implement, monitor, and evaluate food service programs across multiple store locations.
  • Provide relief support to stores as needed to ensure successful food service operations.

Travel Requirements

Regular travel throughout West Michigan is required. Most travel will allow you to return home each evening; however, occasional overnight travel may be necessary to support projects, training initiatives, or store needs.

A company vehicle will be provided.
