Lamphere Schools is contracting the services of Edustaff for food service staff.

Position: 10.5-Month School-Year Position (Contracted through EduStaff)
Location: Simonds Elementary School-Lamphere Schools
Work schedule: 3 hours/day Monday-Friday 10:30am- 1:30pm
Pay Rate: $15.25/hour

Lamphere Schools is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Food Service Cashier (POS) to support meal service at Simonds Elementary School. This position is responsible for accurately processing student and staff meals, operating the point-of-sale system, assisting students with meal requirements, and supporting daily food service operations. The ideal candidate will be flexible and willing to assist with kitchen duties and fill in for food service staff as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• ServSafe Certification (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to pass a required physical examination.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
• Basic computer and cash handling skills.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to interact positively with students, staff, and the school community.

Essential Duties

• Operate the point-of-sale system and accurately enter student and staff meals into MiStar.
• Process cash and check payments and maintain accurate records.
• Verify students have all required meal components for a reimbursable meal.
• Assist with snack and à la carte sales.
• Complete daily reports, cash drawer reconciliation, and required documentation.
• Follow USDA, MDE, and district meal service requirements.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary service area.
• Communicate concerns regarding students, staff, or meal service operations to the appropriate supervisor.
• Assist with food preparation, serving, cleaning, and other kitchen duties as needed.
• Provide support and fill in for food service staff during absences.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently bend, reach, and lift up to 10-30 pounds.
• Ability to operate a computer, POS system, and cash register.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced school food service environment.

This position is contracted through EduStaff. Employment, payroll, and eligibility for any available benefits are administered by EduStaff.

Employment is contingent upon disclosure in accordance with PA-189.
Must demonstrate reliability and punctuality, with a strong record of consistent attendance.
