
The Food Service Assistant I at the Greenspring Campus is responsible for assisting with the preparation and delivery of breakfast and lunch to the students and maintaining a safe and sanitary environment in the kitchen and cafeteria. Must obtain and maintain ServSafe (or the equivalent, approved) certification.
THE HOURS FOR THIS POSITION ARE 6:30AM-2:30PM
Follows HACCP guidelines for good food safety, equipment sanitation, and personal hygiene procedures in the preparation and serving of meals.
Assist in preparing and serving meals for students in accordance with the prearranged menu.
Maintain cleanliness of counter, tables, storage areas, and kitchen and cafeteria equipment.
Wash pots, pans, trays, dishes, breakfast boxes and utensils.
Monitor and record refrigerator and freezer temperatures daily.
Maintain and monitor the small kitchen area in the cafeteria.
Operate cash register and all accompanying paperwork and recordkeeping for associated meal, one day per week and as needed.
Check the 3rd and 4th floor coffee areas and replenish supplies, daily. Inventory coffee and supplies in the 3rd and 4th floor coffee areas on specified day each week.
Provide Food Service Assistance at Fairmount location, as needed.
High School Diploma, or GED, is required.
At least one year of previous food service experience is required.
Must obtain and maintain ServSafe (or the equivalent, approved) certification. On the job training in the requirements of the National School Lunch Program will be provided. An opportunity to earn Food Safety Certification will be provided.
