Job Description

St John of God Geelong Hospital St John of God Hospital Geelong is a 253-bed hospital and is recognised as the leading provider of private health care in the Barwon and South-Western region. The hospital provides a range of services including an emergency department, day surgery, medical, surgical and maternity services, along with a 24-hour critical care unit and Cath Lab services.

About the role

You will play a key role in supporting the Food Services Department to deliver high-quality meals and exceptional service to patients, caregivers, and visitors.

Your responsibilities will include assisting with meal preparation and plating, providing efficient meal service, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the department. You will contribute to achieving quality, safety, and productivity standards while helping to create a safe food environment.

The role requires adherence to safe food handling practices across all stages of food service operations, including receiving, storage, preparation, and distribution, ensuring compliance with food safety requirements at all times.

This casual role involves a variety of shifts across day and afternoon hours, including:

  • Morning shift 6.30am -2.30pm
  • Middle shift 11.15am-3.15pm
  • Afternoon shift 2.30am-9pm

Your skills and experience

You will have the ability to deliver exceptional customer service, excellent communication skills and experience with a food service environment.
