
Job Title: Food Sanitation Specialist
Location: Yorktown, VA
Pay Rate: $21.74 per hour

The Food Sanitation Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety in the dining facility. This position ensures that all food service areas, equipment, and utensils are properly cleaned and sanitized to meet health, safety, and military standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform cleaning and sanitation of food service areas, dining rooms, serving lines, kitchens, and dishwashing stations.
Wash, sanitize, and properly store pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
Maintain cleanliness of floors, walls, and surfaces, including sweeping, mopping, and removing trash.
Operate and maintain dishwashing machines and sanitation equipment according to safety standards.
Follow proper handling and disposal procedures for waste and cleaning chemicals.
Adhere to all health, sanitation, and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with inspection standards.
Assist with restocking supplies in service areas as needed.
Work collaboratively with food service staff and management to maintain a safe and efficient operation.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior experience in food service sanitation or janitorial work strongly preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lift up to 50 lbs.
Knowledge of sanitation and safety standards required in food service operations.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays if required.
