
SUMMARY: The Food Safety Regulatory Specialist is responsible for understanding and implementation of the company’s HACCP programs/procedures and any other HACCP supporting programs/procedures or activities. This can and will include observation of HACCP monitors and verifiers performing HACCP checks.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma or GED is required. A two year or higher college degree is preferred. One or more years’ experience in meat processing, or closely related industry is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to wet, cold and/or humid conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually at a level where OSHA required hearing protection is required.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. Must be available to work A or B shift when needed or as assigned.
