Salary Range: $25.00 - $35.00 Hourly

Job Shift: DayFood Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA) Specialist

As a result, we are looking for a motivated individual with a keen eye for detail to join our team! The FSQA Specialist will assist the FSQA Manager in the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the SQF System and Food Safety Program. They will also assist the Technical Service Manager with various department tasks and projects.
Essential Functions
Duties may include but are not limited to:
• Development, review, and maintenance of the SQF System and Food Safety Program
• Review, interpretation, and assessment of compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Compliance, monitoring, and enforcement of Elite Spice GMPs and procedures and industry food safety guidelines and standards
• Recommend changes in procedures, standards, etc. to improve food safety and quality
• Auditing of internal facilities and suppliers
• Assisting with food safety regulatory audits, customer audits, and GFSI audits
• Review of supplier documentation and completion of risk assessments
• Creation and review of technical and food safety documents to support business needs and customer inquiries
• Performing other tasks as directed by the FSQA Manager and Technical Service Manager

Qualifications
• Excellent work history – ideally min. 2 years in a food, beverage, flavor, and/or ingredient manufacturing industry
• B.A. /B.S. degree is preferred (with emphasis in the areas of business, science, food or closely related technical field); however, additional experience may be considered in lieu of this
• Knowledge of the Global Food Safety Initiative GFSI (e.g., SQF) and general audit fundamentals
• Knowledge of Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and overall U.S. food safety landscape
• Ability to be organized and follow up on tasks and personnel
• Possess interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills, and time management skills
• Excellent communication skills with ability to receive and provide instructions and feedback in a positive manner
• Ability to work in a team setting and independently
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, Outlook
