Job Description

The primary responsibility of the food runner is to expedite all food orders taken by the bartenders and food servers to the guest quickly. The food runner is responsible for maintaining a genuine, cheerful demeanor while representing the Gordon Ramsay brand positively at all times.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Serve food in a timely manner.
  • Ensure food order is correct before serving to the guests.
  • Monitor tables closely and be attentive to guests’ needs.
  • Describe in detail the preparation methods and ingredients of all the menu items.
  • Carry multiple dishes (up to 3 at one time) in one hand without tray service.
    Passionately informs guests about Gordon Ramsay, his history, and current business endeavors
  • Refresh flatware after each course or upon guest request.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area/station.
  • Ensure work area/station is clean and stocked at all times.
    • Ability to work from a standing position for extended periods of time.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to perform reaching and stooping motions repeatedly.
  • Visual ability needed to accurately measure ingredients for mixing drinks.
  • Fast paced, high volume environment involving constant public.
  • Requires standing, walking, and lifting a minimum of 20lbs repeatedly.
  • Shifts may vary based on business needs.
  • Must be able to handle intoxicated guests in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to tolerate secondary tobacco smoke.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Work requires 6 months previous food server / running experience.
  • Work requires effective communication in English, both verbal and written form in a professional manner.
  • Must present a neat and professional appearance.
  • Work requires interactions with customers, public and co-workers.
  • Work requires teamwork with other staff members.
  • Extensive knowledge of food and beverage products.
  • Ability to perform basic/intermediate math skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with guests, staff and management.
  • Knowledge, understanding and compliance of policies and procedures, job descriptions, daily memorandums, chemical labels and other instructions.

PHYSICAL,MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

Loud, fast paced environment, multiple tasks to be handled under time constraint. Requires standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting and reaching throughout the shift. Must be able to handle a heavy business volume in a timely manner. Work requires pushing carts up to 70lbs, lifting full pots up to 100lbs, repetitive stirring, extreme hot and cold work conditions, and bending at the waist.
