Department Overview
Provides leadership, support, and oversight of staff in the Food & Nutrition and Retail Patient Services organization. This position will ensure retail locations are operating within the guidelines established in the FNS Retail section pertaining to guest service and food safety; and will ensure Patient Services staff engaged in the Room Service Program meet food safety standards and patient room service standards. This position will ensure that operations are running in a safe and responsible manner when the Manager and Supervisors are not on site. (Primarily nights and weekends).
Function/Duties of Position
- Food Safety: Actively monitor food safety practices (temperatures, sanitation, food quality, product recall, and facility inspections). Will fill Oregon Health Authority requirement of Person-In-Charge (PIC) status.
- Customer Experience: Coordinator will spend most of their time on the floor working with employees to ensure excellent customer service in Patient and Retail operations. They will provide immediate service recovery in the event a mistake is made or we have an unsatisfied patient/customer.
- Operational Safety: Be present throughout shift to ensure that a floor person in charge is able to respond to issues such as injury (staff and customer), theft, and operational emergencies.
- Administrative Duties: Monitor temperature logs, schedules (finding replacements, reassigning work), receive inventory, process invoices, set up and pass out banks, reconcile cash audits, and troubleshoot MICROS POS system.
- Make sure Room Service program is operating properly, and that the CBORD operating system is functioning as designed.
Required Qualifications
- An OR food handlers card or equivalent; AND
- Food Protection Manager Certification with 6 months of hire; AND
- High School Diploma or Equivalent; AND
- 3 years of hospitality experience including professional customer service and previous supervisory/lead worker experience.
- Some positions may require the ability to push food carts and/or lift materials up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Windows operating system (XP, Vista) MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), 1 year of oracle experience.
- Demonstrated telephone skills.
- Must be able to problem solve independently.
- Must have experience in cash counting/business banking.
Additional Details
- Exposure to a variety of food products, restaurant grade chemicals, heat, cold and loud noise. Exposure to a large amount of people on a daily basis. Must be able to work long hours as needed and be available on an on-call basis. This position primarily works evenings, weekends, and holidays while management is not on site.
- Working knowledge of kitchen equipment including but not limited to a grill, steamer, tilting skillet, mixer and dish machine. Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs. Ability to stand and walk continuously for long periods of time. Ability to perform a variety of movements such as bending, pulling, twisting and reaching. Ability to use and operate cash register and POS systems.
