Job Description

We are looking for a talented Food Rescue Project Lead, who will play a critical role in developing, testing and scaling our new digital platform, OzHarvestLink.

Working closely with Woolworths and internal stakeholders, you will lead the phased rollout of the platform and help ensure it is embedded effectively across our donor and agency network. You will also support other national food rescue and logistics projects, including optimisation initiatives with key partners.

OzHarvestLink will enable agencies to collect food directly from stores themselves in areas where the yellow van model cannot operate efficiently. This creates a more flexible and comprehensive approach to food recovery. OzHarvestLink will be embedded across our food donor network, supporting OzHarvest to deliver broader, more flexible national food rescue coverage.

This full-time role will need you to have experience in managing internal and external relationships with stakeholders, particularly volunteers, donors and recipient agencies. Strong project management skills and ad excellent long-term thinking and planning skills, balanced with ability to react quickly to events and to prioritise in a fast-moving environment are keys to success. The location is flexible We can’t wait to meet you!

If you would like to apply, please speak to your manager and apply with a cover letter explaining your interest.

About OzHarvest

Founded by Ronni Kahn AO in 2004, OzHarvest is Australia’s leading food rescue organisation with a driving purpose to ‘Nourish our Country’. Our mission is to stop food waste, feed people in need and protect our planet by championing the value of food and driving change at all levels of society. The impact of our work is strongly aligned to achieving five United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

OzHarvest is best known for our iconic yellow food rescue vans which save over 250 tonnes of good food every week and deliver it direct to charities that feed people in need. We’re also creating positive change through three national education programs (FEAST, NEST and Nourish), and through our advocacy work raising awareness about food security and doing whatever we can to halve Australia’s food waste by 2030.

Innovation is part of our DNA and we’re always looking to add value to what we do and find new ways to tackle food waste and feed hungry people. We’re pioneering social impact projects from free supermarkets (OzHarvest Market) and a restaurant (Refettorio OzHarvest) that feeds people in need and creating revenue generating products via OzHarvest Ventures. Our unique for-impact, food rescue model has been implemented across the globe in New Zealand, UK, South Africa, Vietnam and Japan.

Every $1 donated allows OzHarvest to deliver 2 meals to people in need.
