Requisitions food supplies needed for cooking the varied kinds of meals produced, coordinate with storeroom clerk as needed.
Inspects and monitors perishable food supply items and keeps supervisor informed of items used and menu adjustments.
Prepares entrées, vegetables, starch, soup items for patient room service, cafeteria, catering, events, and Garden View Grill. Prepares according to recipe and departmental quality standards.
Identifies and reports production problems and makes suggestions to supervisor regarding supply outage, production substitutions and preparation methods.
Records food production information on production sheet and transfers to data master schedule.
Prepares patient menu items as ordered, supplies menu items for cafeteria meal services
Attends and participates in departmental meetings / in-services, Mary Lanning Healthcare quality improvement program, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Mary Lanning Healthcare, a full-service, acute care medical facility in Hastings, Nebraska, offers care in over 30 medical specialties delivered by 75 physicians on our Active Medical Staff. Additionally, care is provided by 34 Consulting and Courtesy Medical Staff members. For over 100 years, Mary Lanning Healthcare has expanded to meet the needs of our community and region. Over the past decade, the hospital has enhanced local care through a complete cardiac catheterization lab; increased services to neighboring communities by providing medical and psychiatric services through MLMH satellite clinics; and expanded our rehabilitation facility to include cardiac and pulmonary rehab, physical, occupational and speech therapies. The facility has received national recognition through the Quest for Quality Award, presented by the American Hospital Association and the Nebraska Hospital Association's Quest for Excellence Award for advancements in quality and patient care.
