Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Food Pantry Specialist
supports the daily operations of Belmont University's campus food pantry by
assisting students, maintaining inventory, organizing donations, and promoting
a welcoming environment for all pantry users. This position provides meaningful
service to the campus community while helping address food insecurity among
students.
Essential Responsibilities:
Stock shelves and organize food, hygiene products, and other pantry supplies.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with inventory tracking and reporting.
Sort, inspect, and organize donated items.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of pantry storage and distribution areas.
Assist with pantry events, food drives, and campus outreach initiatives.
Help prepare pantry orders and distribution materials as needed.
Collect and record usage data while maintaining confidentiality.
Provide excellent customer service and represent Belmont University's mission and values.
Perform other duties as assigned to support pantry operations.
Working Conditions: Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods when stocking inventory.
Required Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous customer service, volunteer, or food service experience.
Interest in community engagement, social services, public health, or nonprofit work.
Experience with inventory management or data entry.
