Job Description

**This position is Full Time - Mon - Fri, 8AM - 4:30PM, Pay rate starts at $12/hr**

Primary Purpose: Food pantry including the intake process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Greet visitors/clients in a friendly manner.
  2. Answer phone and direct calls to appropriate personnel.
  3. Secure and enter necessary client information into database.
  4. Ensure pantry equipment is stocked and cleaned.
  5. Attend meetings as required.
  6. Responsible for sorting and stocking personal care items.
  7. Serves as a backup for the Social Services Case Worker and assist clients with various needs including, but not limited to intake interviews, Client Referrals, Rent/Utility Assistance and

Hotel Vouchers.

  1. This position will serve as a back-up driver for the Feeding America pick up.
  2. All other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.

  1. Ability to be flexible and able to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously
  2. Intermediate skills in Microsoft software to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. The ability to access payroll, timekeeping and personal data via a web-based system.
  3. Administrative skills to include utilization of standard office equipment, data entry, 10-key, attention to detail and filing.
  4. Good communication skills both written and spoken, and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
  5. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters.

Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business. Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.

Must be able to sit a majority of the time. Must be able to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. May need to climb or balance or stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Need to be able to talk or hear. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions: Ability to work with moderate noise in a business office and occasional outdoor tasks in a variety of weather conditions.
