
Shift: Day Shift, Full Time
Hours: 1030a-7p or 6a-230p and every, varying, every other weekend
Job Duties
Prepare, portion, and serve food according to hospital recipes, menus, and dietary requirements.
· Assemble patient meal trays accurately and deliver them to patient units.
· Follow special diet orders, including modified diets, allergies, and texture restrictions.
· Wash, sanitize, and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, work areas, and food-service carts.
· Store food properly and check food temperatures to maintain safety and quality.
· Follow hospital infection-control, food-safety, and sanitation procedures.
· Stock food, supplies, trays, and kitchen materials as needed.
· Collect and wash used trays, dishes, and utensils.
· Assist cooks and other kitchen staff with food preparation and cleaning.
· Communicate professionally with patients, nurses, dietary staff, and other hospital employees.
· Follow workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
· Perform other duties assigned by the Food Service Supervisor or Manager including deep cleaning, utility, dishwashing, delivering Patient Trays and retrieving Patient trays.
Education
High School Diploma (Equivalent) Preferred
Previous food service, kitchen, cafeteria, or healthcare experience is helpful.
Candidates must be able to stand for long periods, lift and move food-service supplies, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
