NATURE AND SCOPE:

This position will help set-up, pack meals, coordinate and execute the delivery of fresh, healthy meals to YMCA sponsored sites. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate, self-directed, a team player, highly communicative, personable, professional, punctual, detail-oriented, reliable, and responsible. Delivery or transportation experience, familiarity with Atlanta, and experience with MS Outlook preferred. A clear and valid Driver’s License is required and must be maintained throughout your employment.

RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):

  • Efficiently pack meals daily in partnership with the Chef and cooking team.
  • Organize meals and materials according to site-specific preferences.
  • Timely drop-offs & pick-ups to sponsor site locations.
  • Return supplies and materials to appropriate locations in preparation for the next day.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness inside the delivery vehicle and production facility.
  • Collect, check, and verify records.
  • Pickup / receive occasional orders from our suppliers.
  • Serve and train as additional staff, interns or volunteers as requested.

Additional Skills:

  • Food preparation – should have knowledge about food preparation and should be able to contribute to industrial-or institutional scale food handling and prep.
  • Food safety – knowledge in this role, food handler should be well-versed in best practices for safe handling and transportation of food to prevent spoilage and other contamination.
  • Attention – to cleanliness-workplace safety and cleanliness are also essential in preventing contamination and illness; the food handlers should have a thorough understanding of cleaning and sanitation.
  • Physical fitness – food handler may need and must be able to perform repetitive or strenuous task during food preparation, so they should possess a high level of stamina.
  • Teamwork – Work with other team members, team collaboration and communication are necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • Delivery experience preferred
  • Communicates well through email, text and calls
  • Must be able to interact with people from all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles
  • Pass MVR and must maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license
  • Must be able to pass background check (may include fingerprinting) and drug test

ERGONOMICS: Must be able to drive, stand for long periods of time, move easily around the kitchen and facilities, and lift to 30 lbs.
