Job Description

The Food and Beverage Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the food and beverage department, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while maintaining operational efficiency. They will support the management team by supervising employees, maintaining service standards, assisting with training, and ensuring all cash/credit/room charge transactions are handled efficiently and accurately. They are the leader on the floor, responsible for creating a positive environment for both guests and staff.

Depending on the hotel’s organizational structure, this role may oversee one or more outlets, including banquets, restaurants, and/or room service.

  • Supervise and support servers, bussers, bartenders, and other F&B staff during shifts.
  • Train, mentor, and coach employees on service standards, product knowledge, and guest engagement.
  • Assist in scheduling and shift coverage to ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide real-time feedback to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Greet and interact with guests to ensure satisfaction and resolve issues quickly and professionally.
  • Monitor dining areas to ensure prompt, courteous, and efficient service.
  • Handle guest complaints and special requests in a professional manner.
  • Support staff by assisting with serving, hosting, or bussing duties during peak times.
  • Oversee setup, cleanliness, and organization of dining areas, barista stations, and service stations.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health standards.
  • Assist with inventory control, ordering, and restocking of supplies.
  • Support the coordination of special events, banquets, and group dining.
  • Process and verify guest transactions, including cash, credit, and room charges.
  • Assist with balancing server checkouts, reconciling POS reports, and securing daily deposits.

Requirements

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of F&B experience, preferably in a supervisory position.
  • Knowledge of spirits, beer and wine, and responsible alcohol service required.
  • TIPS/TAM certified; trainer desired
  • Must have food server permit
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude
  • Ability and willingness to work a varied and flexible schedule including weekends, days, nights, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must tolerate prolonged periods of standing, walking; occasional kneeling, bending, and stooping.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds as needed to carry food trays.
  • Must tolerate exposure to cleaning solutions.
