We're seeking an exceptional Banquet Manager to work closely with our Executive Sous Chef and Executive Chef to create unforgettable experiences for our guests. This pivotal role involves organizing memorable events and meetings, which includes determining staffing requirements, planning venue layouts, and coordinating meal services.

Compensation Information: $62,000 to $68,000 per annum

Physical Requirement: Medium; work activities involve handling loads up to 25kg; both in an indoor and outdoor setting.

This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

Skills you bring with you:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a managerial role, preferably in a hotel environment
  • Serving it Right Certification
  • Excellent food and wine knowledge
  • Ability to work quickly and as a team in a fast-past environment
  • Able to motivate and support employees
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to lift, carry, or push up to 25kg
  • Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to multi-task

Primary Responsibilities:

Service/Operations:

  • Responsible for coordinating the delivery of all Food and Beverage for functions held in the Hotel and all details pertaining to functions being held in all banquet and meeting rooms while providing an exceptional banquet experience from start to finish
    • Implement & execute the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel Food and Beverage Banquet Standard of Service
    • Work closely with supervisor to ensure service staff is on schedule and motivated
    • Schedule staff according to operational needs, controlling labor cost
    • Input inventory monthly & ordering of inventory as require
    • Approve payroll hours
    • Follow proper requisition procedures
    • Attend and participate in the BEO weekly meeting and Leadership Meetings
    • Work with the Food and Beverage Director, Executive Chef and sales and events team to ensure all arrangements and details are dealt with prior to event execution
    • Shows a passion for hospitality, service and food
    • Health & Safety Regulations are adhered to at all times
    • Assists in any F&B Department Outlet as business volumes dictate

Guest Experience

  • Deliver an elevated experience for our guests within our Banquet department
    • Ensure exceptional service delivery while maintaining a high level of professionalism
    • Liaise between client and banquet staff
    • Ensure event execution is on time from start to finish
    • Solve any concerns that clients bring forward in a timely and professional manner
    • Act as an ambassador of the Hotel & Sun Peaks with the ability to promote internal and external events

Team Commitment:

    • Excellent communication skills
    • Briefing staff members on all event information
    • Implement duty list to ensure all staff members know their responsibilities from start to finish to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner
    • Capable of assisting in emergency situations making prompt decisions in the best interest of the guest and the Hotel
