Job Description

Location: The Atrium at LaGuardia

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
The Beverage & Food Attendant is responsible for administering the basic day-to-day Beverage & Food service duties. The Beverage & Food Team is also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the venue throughout the shift.
Reports to: General Manager
• Take orders and serve customers using the point-of-sales system.
• Ensure coffee stations and bar area, including beverage coolers and snacks, are stocked properly and consistently throughout the shift.
• Receive orders and serve customer requests completely in a timely manner, including but not limited to serving as a barista.
• Understand menu content, any menu changes, and promotional activities.
• Keep your service area clean, tidy, and well-prepared.
• Ensure collection and recording receipt of appropriate payment (cash, credit card transactions); Handle and record cash and credit card transactions in accordance with company and City procedures.
• Answer Guest queries in a polite and helpful manner.
• Maintain a working knowledge of beverages and food offered and how to prepare and serve them.
• Provide assistance with setting up and breaking down food and beverage stations.
• Setting up workstations as needed.
• Serving water to guests and refilling beverage glasses as needed.
• Placing and replacing silverware as needed.
• Delivering beverages from the bartender.
• Delivering food from the kitchen.
• Stocking wait staff serving stations with napkins, utensils, trays, condiments, and salt and pepper containers.
• Directing guests to restrooms or exits as needed.
• Clearing tables and conference rooms throughout the venue as guests complete their meals /beverages and preparing tables for the next guests.
• Following and maintaining all sanitation and safety procedures and required training.
• Touch-up vacuum as necessary.
• Assists in cleaning, running dishwashers, restocking barware and other operational supplies, opening/closing tasks, and other duties as needed.
• Heat up and service food items. Assist in preparing salads, appetizers, entrée, or desserts, plating and adding garnishes to food.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required by managers.
• Maintain kitchen cleanness, including floors, floor mats of all outlets, and dish pit.
• Trash removal to a designated location.
• Event Space set up and refresh, including setting up of meeting tables and chairs and Beverage & Food stations when business demands.

Qualifications, Education, & Experience(includes but not limited to):
• Proficient in English.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Beverage and food experience is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic mathematic skills are required.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
