Position Purpose summary:
The Food Bank Support Worker plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of food distribution services to individuals and families in need. This position involves hands-on tasks such as collecting donations, organizing inventory, preparing food hampers, and engaging with clients in a respectful and compassionate manner. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, and committed to supporting food security in the community. By joining our team, you’ll be making a direct impact on food security in your community. Accountabilities:
Donation Collection & Documentation
•Pick up food donations from local grocery stores and community partners
•Accurately weigh and record all incoming donations
•Maintain detailed documentation of donations, including source, weight, and type
Inventory & Stock Management
•Sort and shelves donated food items according to food safety guidelines
•Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or excesses
•Ensure proper rotation of stock to minimize waste
Food Hamper Preparation & Distribution
•Assemble food hampers based on dietary needs and family size
•Hand out hampers to clients in a welcoming and respectful manner
•Maintain confidentiality and dignity of all clients
Food Rescue Store Operations
•Set up and organize the Food Rescue Store for client access
•Staff the store during opening hours, assist clients and maintain daily log of how many clients we were able to serve
•Ensure the store remains clean, stocked, and organized
CRITICAL RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $17.85 to $21.84 with a maximum of $26.20.
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
