About This Opportunity.

Join the collaborative UQ Venues team as a Food and Beverage Supervisor at Patina at Alumni Court, a modern restaurant, bar and events caterer in the heart of UQ’s St Lucia campus. You will provide visible, hands-on leadership across restaurant and event services, supporting a purposeful team to deliver warm, polished and consistently excellent guest experiences.

This recruitment process may also be used to identify suitable candidates for future casual Food and Beverage Supervisor vacancies within UQ Venues as they arise.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead restaurant and event catering operations during service periods, providing hands-on support and maintaining high service standards.

  • Supervise, train and motivate restaurant, banquet, barista and food and beverage employees while supporting safe, efficient staffing arrangements.

  • Manage the electronic restaurant diary, respond professionally to guest concerns, uphold responsible service of alcohol requirements and secure the premises at the end of each shift.

  • Complete end-of-day reporting, reconcile daily takings, finalise accounts and prepare banking reports while supporting the day-to-day activities of Patina at Alumni Court.

About You

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a hospitality supervisory or managerial role.

  • Experience in a premium, fine dining or high-volume restaurant environment, with five-star hotel experience highly regarded.

  • A current Queensland Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate.

  • Proven ability to lead by example, supervise employees and maintain exceptional product and service standards.

  • Well-developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with a genuine customer-focused approach.

  • Highly developed organisational skills and the ability to remain composed and effective under pressure.

  • A sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and responsible patron care.

  • A reliable, collaborative and team-oriented approach, with a clear commitment to service excellence.
