This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join the team as the Service and Wine Director at the #1 Hotel in Los Angeles, as voted by Travel and Leisure: Oceana in Santa Monica, CA. This oceanfront, all-suite hotel reopened in July 2019 after undergoing a $35 million transformation, and we are now seeking motivated, enthusiastic professionals to become integral members of our team.
As the Service and Wine Director for the Hotel Oceana Santa Monica’s Sandpiper restaurant, you directly supervise all food and beverage staff and ensure unparalleled food service for both the restaurant and room service. You will use your three years of food and beverage experience (with at least one year in a supervisory role) in a fine dining operation to direct and coordinate the restaurant’s day-to-day operations. Your attention to detail will support the management team in maximizing the restaurant’s profitability through adequate staff, vendor, and inventory management.
Your passion for the food service industry and deep understanding of all aspects of restaurant operations will be an asset as you will frequently work with the on-site leadership team to achieve revenue goals, hire, train and develop new staff, address guest concerns quickly and effectively, and ensure the hotel is meeting its regulatory obligations regarding food service, training, and employment.
Your friendly, efficient, and high-touch approach is perfect for engaging guests and team members. You appropriately address guest concerns and escalate complaints as needed. Still, you can maintain and enforce company standards regarding operational processes and procedures related to the hotel’s food and beverage outlets.
You will work a full-time hospitality schedule, defined by operational needs, which includes weekends and holidays.
Willing to conform to hotel dress and grooming standards, which include meeting the hotel’s dress code, no visible tattoos while wearing a uniform, no unnatural hair colors, no piercings other than one pair of earrings, and neatly groomed facial hair.
