GENERAL SUMMARY

The Front-of-House Team Member is responsible for providing exceptional guest service while supporting the daily operations of Lulu's Kitchen. This position serves as the face of the restaurant by welcoming guests, operating the cash register, taking orders, preparing coffee and specialty beverages, delivering food, maintaining clean dining areas, and ensuring a positive dining experience for every guest. This position plays a key role in ensuring orders received through self-service ordering kiosks, the register, and other ordering channels are accurately processed, prepared, and delivered to guests in a timely manner while maintaining exceptional hospitality standards.

Team members must be willing to assist wherever needed and demonstrate a commitment to hospitality, teamwork, cleanliness, and operational excellence. ESSENTIAL TASKS

  • Create a welcoming and hospitable environment for all guests.
  • Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive customer service.
  • Answer guest questions regarding menu items and daily specials.
  • Resolve guest concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary.
  • Accurately take customer orders using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Process cash, credit card, and electronic payments.
  • Monitor and manage incoming orders from self-service ordering kiosks, online ordering platforms, and the POS system to ensure timely preparation and delivery.
  • Balance cash drawers and follow all cash handling procedures.
  • Maintain accuracy when entering orders and processing transactions.
  • Assist with opening and closing register procedures.
  • Prepare coffee, espresso beverages, tea, and other specialty drinks according to established recipes and standards.
  • Maintain beverage stations, supplies, and equipment.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of coffee and beverage areas.
  • Deliver food and beverages to guests in a timely manner.
  • Verify order accuracy before serving.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
  • Clear and reset tables efficiently.
  • Clean dining areas, beverage stations, counters, and service areas.
  • Restock condiments, supplies, utensils, and beverages.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe dining environment.
  • Assist with opening, closing, and side work duties.
  • Assist coworkers during busy periods.
  • Participate in daily cleaning and sanitation procedures.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience:

  • Previous restaurant, retail, hospitality, coffee, or customer-service experience preferred

Confidentiality:

  • Works with confidential information – account numbers

Mental/Visual Demands:

  • Flow of work requires normal mental and visual capabilities.

Physical Demand:

  • The employee is required to handle, feel and/or reach with hands and arms, squatting, bending, and constantly moving on a regular basis. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Working Conditions:

  • Fast-paced restaurant and coffee service environment. Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
  • Frequent interaction with guests, team members, and management.
