Preble Street is hiring As-Needed Staff at Florence House. Florence House is a comprehensive program designed to meet the needs of women experiencing homelessness. This 24-hour program includes an emergency shelter, safe haven, and 25 studio apartments based on the Housing First model. Responsibilities include providing coverage, client outreach, maintaining client safety, monitoring security of the building, providing crisis intervention and support, and supporting program needs and activities. As-Needed positions are ideal for those who are flexible, enjoy engaging with people, and prefer fast-paced work. Shifts vary in length; and will include evening, awake overnight or weekend hours.

QualificationsRequirements include a positive regard for clients accessing services for homelessness and poverty; the ability to establish boundaries and set limits with a diverse population; strong communication skills; and the ability to work as part of a team.
Compensation
As-Needed positions have an hourly wage of $20.99 and work a maximum of 28 hours per week.
Employees working in direct service roles in coverage programs are paid an additional $1.00 per hour for all hours actually worked in such programs between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00pm. Between the hours of 10:00pm and 7:00am (overnight) a $2 per hour differential is paid.
