Job Description

1-800-Flowers.com, Inc. is looking for a Floral Designer for their Philadelphia MDC. with 3–5 years of experience as a floral designer in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment. They should possess foundational knowledge of floral handling and processing and be able to identify a wide variety of flowers by name to accurately execute design recipes. A creative mindset, strong attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members to meet deadlines are essential.

The candidate must possess professional floral design experience and demonstrate the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to work collaboratively to meet operational deadlines while maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the maintenance of plants and dish gardens
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cooler at all times
• Ensure proper floral handling and processing standards are followed
• Accurately identify a wide variety of flowers by name
• Execute design recipes in accordance with productivity and quality standards
• Assist in other departments as needed

Work Environment & Expectations

• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, continuously changing environment
• Strong communication skills required
• Must be flexible and willing to work extended hours during holidays
• Must be available to work weekends
• Must comply with all FDA standards

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 25–40 pounds as needed
• Ability to work in indoor environments with varying temperatures, including cold and heat
• Must wear closed-toe footwear in accordance with safety guidelines
• Must be able to assist in other departments as business needs dictate

Qualifications

• Floral design experience required
• Minimum of 3–5 years of professional floral design experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong mathematical skills
• Ability to effectively receive and communicate instructions
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
• Must be a team player and work collaboratively with others
• High school diploma or equivalent required

The expected hourly pay range for this position is $19.00 to $21.00 per hour Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and other factors permitted by law.
