Job Description

Responsible for developing and procuring complete supply of highest quality floral
merchandise available for resale to member retailers. To promote sales of these items to the members and
purchase them at the lowest possible price.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to perform the following
duties along with all other duties as requested by the department head and upper
management. It is the responsibility of each individual at AWG to provide ultimate
customer service to our members to support their efforts in increasing same store sells
and profits.
1. Weekly price changes and price checks
2. New Item set-up and maintenance
3. Assist in development of weekly Floral Bulletin
4. Coordinate Uploads with Members
5. Contact Stores regarding late uploads
6. Check off stores to make sure no stores are missing
7. Review uploads to determine needs
8. Create PO’s that match determined needs – Identify over / above buys that can be
brought in and sold
9. Communicate with Shippers regarding PO’s
10. PO delivery appointments (work with Receiving on any special instructions)
11. Review PO’s upon arrival for accuracy
12. Review Orders on a daily basis to ensure Service Level (below 99% is not good in
floral)
13. Communicate variances to Floral / Produce Sales Manager
14. Communicate with Warehouse regarding shipping and receiving issues
15. Daily Warehouse walk to determine actions on product left over
16. Contact for Members on Daily needs
17. Communicate slot issues and temperature zone issues to Floral / Produce Sales
Manager
18. Key scratches, miss-picks and any short credits to move product remaining
19. Communicate with traffic for California product and any straight loads
20. Communicate any PO Shorts to affected members. Communicate shorts to
Vendors.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Degree or equivalent; or one to two years
related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,
operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine
reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or
employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as
discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and
volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out
instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems
involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of
those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of
this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use
hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and
talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop,
kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision
abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral
vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
