Job Description

Stew Leonard’s, a family-owned and operated fresh food store founded in 1969, has locations in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey. Floral Assistant
Part Time Hourly – Estimated pay range $ 17.25 - $18.50 depending on qualifications and experience
Must be at least 18 years and older

Floral assistants create floral arrangements, bouquets, and displays for both retail sale and customer orders. They assist customers with the design and pricing of floral arrangements for a variety of occasions and create the final arrangement as per customer specifications.

Your day-to-day:
• Assisting customers throughout the flower department
• Arranging bouquets, arrangements, and displays
• Rotating flowers for time of year/season
• Helping with other tasks as assigned

What you bring to the team:
• High School Diploma, or equivalent, with 1-3 years experience
• Understand art, style and the use of color to create beautiful arrangements
• Knowledge of different types of flowers
• Safely use pruning shears and box cutters
• Excellent customer service
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Creative with an artistic eye
• Organized
• Excellent interpersonal skills

Ideal Availability:
Our ideal candidate is available to work three to four days per week, typically from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including at least one weekend day. Candidates must also be available to work Tuesdays and Thursdays, as well as holidays when needed.

Working Conditions:
• Exposure to cooler than normal office temperatures possible to maintain product freshness
• Position requires walking, squatting, bending, pushing, pulling and lifting with a maximum weight of 50lbs.
