Floral Assistant
Part Time Hourly – Estimated pay range $17.25/hr to $20.00/hr depending on qualifications and experience
Must be at least 18 years and older

Stew’s earned its nickname, the “Disneyland of Dairy Stores” because of its country-fair atmosphere, with costumed characters and animated entertainment throughout the store that keep children entertained while parents shop.

Floral Assistants provide support to the floral department with a variety of activities such as helping prepare flowers for arrangements and displays, assisting customers, maintaining supplies and a clean work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide outstanding customer service by helping customers with product selection and answering questions
• Assistant floral designers with arrangements, bouquets, and displays for a variety of occasions
• Answer phone and take orders
• Keep displays fresh by properly rotating flowers
• Process flowers and care for plants
• Inform customers about care, maintenance, and handling of flowers
• Deliver arrangements, when necessary
• Adhere to all health, sanitation, and safety regulations
• Perform other duties, as assigned

Education and Experience (include knowledge, skills and abilities):
• High School Diploma, or equivalent
• Knowledge of different types of flowers
• Safely use pruning shears and box cutters
• Excellent customer service
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

Working Conditions:
• Exposure to cooler than normal office temperatures possible to maintain product freshness
• Position requires walking, squatting, bending, pushing, pulling and lifting with a maximum weight of 50lbs.
